If copy & pasted that way, the charts in Power Point wouldn't automatically update subsequently.
However I don't have access to this particular workaround anymore.
Unfortunately as soon as I switch the category, the copy-pasted chart updates in Power Point.
I was able to overcome this issue previously by using a virtual machine and running Excel in said virtual machine.

Using a slicer in Excel, I am cycling through various categories and copy-pasting charts to a Power Point presentation.
This feature is used in the event where you have a fixed chart that points to a changing data source (for instance, a weekly sales report) which allows you to simply replace the data source and refresh your chart, rather than repeatedly copy and paste new data each time the chart needs an update.
Once a link has been made, Mekko Graphics will remember the Excel range that was used so that future updates can be made. button and navigate to the location of the spreadsheet containing the named range.
Mekko Graphics will create a range on-the-fly based on the selection in Excel.
