If anyone at Philips is reading this, please check out Cars and/or Ratatouille. Don't worry you can waste your time calling the 888-744-5477 number and after being quized and given a number you will be put on hold and then told you will be transferred to a second level tech. If you watch Spiderman do not use popup for added features as it can lock and not allow you to return to the movie. Next, the lastest from the tech support on the 888-744-5477 number about the problem on new releases the firmware does not support. scy=US&slg=AEN&mid=Link_Software&cat=DVD_HOME_THEATER_CA&sct=DVD_PLAYERS_SU&session=20080416135838_18.104.22.168&grp=HOME_ENTERTAINMENT_GR&ctn=BDP9000/37&dct=FUS&did=AEN&file=/files/b/bdp9000_37/bdp9000_37_fur_Back again. I see the latest firmware release has still not been added to this site. It is jerky and would remind you of a scrambled program off a cable system without being descrambed.
Fantastic 4 - Improves Blu-ray playback compatibility for some discs. No luck and I now have three movies which will not play. Cars and Ratatouille do not play properly in the Philips BDP9000, even after downloading and applying the October 16, 2007 formware update. Same story as the sideshow is the load message and after the preview of the Simpsons movie (no sound and plays only as a fast forward etc) the picture on the TV goes blank and you have to eject the disc or turn off the player to get it to stop. Not a problem; however, if you watch AVP Requiem do NOT press the info button. Instead of displaying info the player goes into a crazy mode of replaying two or three seconds of the movie over and over and not in a nice way either.
The switch ports (be they LAN or the WAN port) are pretty much the last thing to enable after recycling the power.
When my older unit's wireless starting to die, I just pulled the power plug, waited 10 seconds, then plugged it back in to do a quick reset.
Unplugging the ethernet cables was/is a waste of time and changes nothing with regard to how the router boots up.

Samsung has made this possible to do yourself, avoiding the need for a video technician. Navigate to the Samsung Blu-ray resource center (pages.samsung.com/us/bluraysupport/support.html). If you need to update, use the left and right arrow buttons on your remote to toggle to the "Yes" response.
Look at the box near the top of the page marked "Latest Firmware." Look down the list to find the model number that corresponds with your player. Press "Enter." If you select "No," the player's tray will open for you to retrieve the disc.
I am being told there is nothing they can do about it. This takes care of Live or Die Hard (3 and 4), Spiderman3, Fantastic 4, Guardian, Cars, Ratatouille, Decent and IRobot.
